Welcome in Qiqihar

Qiqihar (齐齐哈尔; 齊齊哈爾), Qíqíhā'ěr, in Manchu: Cicigar hoton is a beautiful city and region in the southwest of Heilongjiang district. It has a population of about 900,000 inhabitants.

Qiqihar is the second largest city in Heilongjiang Province. The majority of the people are Han Chinese. Residential minorities are, among others, Manchu, Daur, and Mongolians.

30 kilometers from Qiqihar are numerous wetlands and the Zhalong Nature Reserve, with over 300 species of birds. The wetlands are famous in China for being home to numerous red-crowned cranes.

Other touristic natural en historical spots in Qiqihar includes the Longsha Park, St. Michael's Cathedral, the Zen Monastery, the Wan Shin Buddhist Temple, Labor Lake, cultural sites at Ang'angxi and Mingyue Island.
